Primary role will involve working on the live bird hanging line and also be required to stand in as a CAS (Controlled Atmosphere Stunning) Technician as needed to support operational continuity. Primary Role – Hanger (Arrival Operative): • Ensuring all birds are correctly placed on the production line whilst complying with strict bird welfare standards • Lifting in the region of 2kg per bird on a repetitive basis • Comply with Bird Welfare standards • To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his tasks and how equipment should be used • To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines. • Handling/lifting of crates averaging 15kg • To carry out instructions as given to you by your Supervisor/Management Secondary Role – CAS Technician (Cover Only) when required: •Operate the CAS (gas stunning) system during periods of staff absence or as required •Responsible for ensuring settings for CAS system are appropriate for the loading of birds in crates •To ensure prestart checks and appropriate paperwork is completed •Carry out system checks, routine maintenance, and accurate record keeping •To monitor the infeed from the linco system in the CAS pit •Awareness of the usage of material and energy sources What we are looking for • Good level of English and basic numeracy skills • The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively • Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks • Experience within a production/manufacturing environment • Experience in operating CAS or similar gas stunning systems or Operating Machinery • Strong understanding of animal welfare, or willingness to be trained • Willingness to undertake additional training for CAS Technician duties Due to Bird Welfare, it is essential that you do not own any Avian Pets or Poultry.
