This role is a zero hour bank contract with an hourly rate of £25.11. The full time equivalent salary is £47,142 based on working 36 hours per week.

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and confident individual to join our team of Independent Appeal Panel Clerks, helping ensure that school admission appeals are heard fairly, impartially, and in line with the principles of natural justice.
Appeals are heard by independent appeal panels made up of 3 trained volunteers and take place throughout the year although not usually during school holidays.
Core duties:
7. Ensure relevant facts are clearly presented to the Independent Appeal Panel
8. Organise and manage the flow of each meeting
9. Provide independent, accurate procedural and legal advice
10. Record proceedings and decisions
11. Ensure every parent's appeal is heard fairly, respectfully, and lawfully
12. There is no line management responsibility but you may be required to help train and mentor new members of the team, including new panel members
As a clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring that appellants have a fair opportunity to present their case, while also helping the organisation meet its statutory responsibility to hear appeals in accordance with legal requirements and deadlines.

14. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

18. Team‑focused, adaptable, and professional
