Job Description
A vacancy has arisen for an Early Years Practitioner to act as a member of the Early Learning and Childcare team, with full involvement in the work of the Early Level curriculum, and where appropriate, the pre-Birth to Three Framework, helping to contribute to the care and education of children.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality and service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service of the organisation.
This is a Children's Service Network (CSN) post. Initially, you will be based at Meiklemill School Nursery, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Ellon CSN.
The successful candidate will be employed on a 45.04 weeks per year contract.
This vacancy is a maternity cover post for a fixed-term period up until 03/07/2026. A secondment opportunity will also be considered for this post.

Requirements
This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will need to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post requires you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
This post has a minimum requirement of 2 references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
