Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an Associate Lecturer to teach Economic Principles in 2026.
Are you passionate about economic principles and teaching? We are looking for someone who has the ability to communicate key concepts in economics and finance in an engaging way.
Responsibilities
The appointed individual will possess sound knowledge of economics, and a commitment to student learning and academic development, and teaching experience at an introductory level, whether in universities or schools, would be particularly valuable.
The module is delivered through weekly three-hour teaching sessions, which should be highly interactive, including opportunities for students to interact both with the lecturer and each other.

Remuneration and Contract
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £69.68 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked.
Fixed-term, January - August 2026, part-time contract.
