Overview
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting one Nursing Assistant, full time (37.5 hours per week) to join the Children’s Community Nursing Service. We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, well-organised person who is self-motivated and able to work as part of a team. The role requires a commitment to confidentiality.
Main duties of the job
* Support outpatient paediatric clinics throughout the Trust under the supervision and direction of the Children’s Community Nurses.
* Help consultants and nursing staff with a range of clinical tasks in clinics; ensure clinics run efficiently and that the required equipment and clinic rooms are maintained.
* Responsible for home deliveries of equipment and for ensuring equipment maintenance is up to date and recorded appropriately.
* Under trained supervision, plan clinic rotas and order equipment essential to the service.
* Communicate with children, parents, carers and others in clinics, schools or community locations to ensure delivery of child-focused and family-centred care.
* When required, provide care and support as directed by the Children’s Community Nurses to meet the individual health needs of the child or young person.
Key responsibilities
* Provide a welcoming and well-organised outpatient clinic environment and support medical colleagues in delivering high-quality outpatient services.
* Care, maintenance and tracking of electronic equipment.
* Delivery of essential equipment to children accessing the Children’s Community Nursing Service.
* Maintain clear communication with children, their parents and carers to support care delivery.
Requirements and qualifications
* Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
* Demonstrates an understanding of confidentiality.
* Ability to work as part of a team and good communication skills.
* Enthusiastic, caring, well-organised, self-motivated individual.
