Personal Assistant (Male Preferred) (Bishopbriggs)
GCIL East Dunbartonshire is advertising on behalf of a private individual who will be the legal employer. We are looking for a caring, patient, reliable and fun‑loving Personal Assistant to support a 17‑year‑old son with autism and a learning disability.
Overview
Your role will involve providing personal care, supporting the development of daily living skills, facilitating social and leisure activities, and building friendships and connections.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care support to the son.
* Assist in developing skills for activities of daily living.
* Help access social and leisure activities such as swimming, bowling, dining out, playing FIFA, music and dancing.
* Encourage and support building friendships and social connections.
* Assist with learning about countries, flags, languages and cultures.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Male candidate preferred.
* Must be physically fit.
* Experience supporting young people with autism and learning disabilities is desirable but not essential.
* Driver with a clean driving licence desirable but not essential.
* Must hold or be willing to obtain a PVG; the Personal Assistant is responsible for the cost and maintenance of the PVG.
Compensation & Hours
Pay: £18.00 per hour.
Hours: Up to 15 hours per week (after school, evenings and weekends). Additional hours may be available during school holidays or to provide cover.
