The Team
The Governance, Risk and Compliance Team (GRC) manage risk and assurance within the IT Services Directorate (ITS). They are responsible for coordinating the management of function-level risk within ITS, and ensuring that the University maintain appropriate standards of Health and Safety, PCI DSS, etc. GRC collaborate with key functions and stakeholders across the University, working to improve the efficiency of security, governance and risk processes.
The Role
Working within GRC, the Governance Officer will support the Associate Director of Governance, Risk, Compliance and Administration and GRC Manager in governance, risk and compliance-related administration tasks, working closely with senior colleagues in maintaining the integrity of governance processes and the policy framework. They will analyse governance-related activities, monitoring adherence to the governance framework and reporting on non-compliance.
The Governance Officer will be the primary advisor for ITS staff regarding governance-related processes, tools and documents, and ensure that ITS governance forums produce consistent, effectively managed outputs. They will follow the efficient implementation of governance-related activities, maintain rigorous documentation control, and administer governance planning and monitoring, leading on continuous improvement opportunities.
The Person
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in:
* Establishing, documenting and maintaining governance standards;
* Comprehensive document management techniques;
* Writing clear, accessible and persuasive business and technical reports;
* Effective time management.
They should ideally have some familiarity with applying standards relevant to the IT industry, and the specific organisation or business domain (e.g. ISO 27001).
