A specialist secondary provision in Basingstoke is looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Manager to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for teaching assistants seeking career progression or teachers looking for a step back from classroom responsibilities, while continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.
About the School:
The school supports students aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and other associated learning difficulties. It prides itself on delivering a nurturing, inclusive environment where personalised support and strong relationships enable students to thrive both academically and personally.
The Role:
The Behaviour Support Manager will play a pivotal role in participating in the coordination of the team of teaching assistants and support staff, with a specific focus on behaviour support. This person will be responsible for ensuring that students receive high-quality, consistent behaviour interventions and support tailored to their individual needs, helping to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and achievement across the school.
This role is ideal for a highly organised, empathetic individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for SEND education. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, senior leaders, and external agencies to develop and implement effective behaviour support strategies.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working with young people with SEMH and/or SEND
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* Ability to motivate and support a team of teaching assistants
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Previous experience in a teaching or teaching assistant role is desirable
