Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are working with a supportive Special Needs school (SEMH) in Merstham who are seeking a skilled and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This role involves providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support for students in KS3 and KS4, many of whom have behavioural needs and EHCPs related to SEMH. You will work closely with the SENCO and behaviour team to implement strategies that help students regulate emotions, engage in lessons, and develop positive relationships in school.
🔹 The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with students with SEMH and behavioural needs
A calm, patient and consistent approach
The ability to build rapport and manage challenging behaviour
A strong understanding of safeguarding and de-escalation techniques
Team Teach training (desirable but not essential)
