Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Yeovil Area
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £90 – £94 per day
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in EYFS at a welcoming school.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs within an EYFS classroom
* Help the pupil access lessons and classroom activities
* Support the development of social, emotional, and communication skills
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
* Adapt approaches throughout the day to meet the pupil’s changing needs
* Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
* Ideally has previous SEN experience or a strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs
* Demonstrates patience, dedication, and empathy
* Provides consistency and reassurance to support the pupil’s learning and wellbeing
* Is able to think on their feet and adapt to different classroom situations
* Has a calm, proactive, and flexible approach
* Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff

Successful candidates will also complete Safeguarding and Thrive training prior to starting the role.
