Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Deputy Practice Manager at Sandgate Road Surgery, located in West Folkestone. Our practice provides primary care services to approximately 12,600 patients.
Responsibilities
* Managing the reception, prescribing, and administration teams, including clinicians rotas
* Leading projects from inception to completion
* Developing robust systems and policies
* Assisting with resolving and answering complaints
* Deputising for the Practice Manager when required
* Collaborating with the management team and GP partners to meet practice targets
* Supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring staff meet their responsibilities
About Us
We are an innovative 5-partner training practice with 3 salaried GPs and a skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner-led nursing team. Dr Nguyen, our clinical director, leads our Primary Care Network (PCN), and we take an active role in new initiatives. We operate using EMIS Web and the Anima triage system.

Job Description
Job responsibilities include:
* Deputy Practice Manager – Responsible to: Practice Manager
* Overview: Support the Practice Manager in day-to-day activities and provide cover or advice in their absence
* Principal duties: Support day-to-day operations, project work, payroll/pensions/accounts/health and safety, familiarise with clinical system and standards, leadership and training, ensure data quality and policy adherence, compliance with statutory requirements, meetings, rotas, leave, complaints handling, health and safety, etc.
Health & Safety: Implement and lead on health, safety and infection control; ensure compliance; training; risk management.
Production of performance and quality information; Data quality; Other tasks; Equality and diversity; Personal/professional development; Quality; Communication; Contribution to service implementation; Confidentiality.
Person Specification
Experience
* Strong interpersonal, customer service, and IT skills
* Ability to lead projects and develop effective systems
Desirable
* Experience of working in primary care
* Applicants without previous primary care experience will need to demonstrate transferable knowledge and skills
Qualifications
* Essential: GCSE English and Maths at grade A-C
* Desirable: CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership Level 5
