Job Responsibilities
1. Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex physiotherapy problems as an autonomous practitioner within the clinical specialty area.
2. Undertake line management responsibility for staff within the service area to ensure a responsive and effective service.
3. Support the Team Leader in operational management and service development at local and/or service-wide levels.
4. Provide clinical education and training.
5. Lead specific projects or initiatives contributing to the delivery of the service within a clinical specialty area.
6. Provide health education, health promotion, and prevention advice.
7. Conduct specialist physiotherapy assessments across a range of conditions using advanced clinical reasoning to analyze findings and determine accurate diagnoses and prognoses.
8. Formulate and recommend physiotherapy interventions and treatment programmes based on evidence-based practice to meet patient goals.
9. Evaluate patient progress, review goals, and modify treatment plans as necessary.
10. Communicate effectively with patients and carers using verbal and non-verbal methods to maximize rehabilitation potential.
11. Address barriers to rehabilitation, including communication difficulties, anxiety, or motivation issues.
12. Ensure patient privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.
