Information Governance Manager

The post holder will be the lead specialist in information governance and act as the Trust Data Protection Officer to assure that systems are in place to monitor, control and record compliance with EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Main duties of the job
Provide assurance to the executive board that the Trust is meeting the mandatory and best practice guidelines as required for Information Governance in the following areas:
* Data Protection
* Data Security and Protection Toolkit
* Contribute on the delivery of Information Security
* Records Management
Job responsibilities
This post has a Trust wide responsibility in leading the strategic development of policies, procedures and standards relating to information governance.
Develop and manage the agenda, to provide specialist knowledge, to raise awareness and acceptance of information governance standards, enabling information governance to be embedded into the organisation.
Person Specification
* Qualified to postgraduate degree level or equivalent in a related subject plus further relevant training (or working towards)
* Knowledge of Information Governance frameworks, legislation and policies.
* Thorough understanding of the requirements of the Information Governance Toolkit.
* Ability to make judgements on complex information governance issues, especially where there may be conflicting opinion or no precedent.
