Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Teacher of English, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).

Ideally, deliver high-quality Key Stage 5 (A-Level) teaching in English Language and/or Literature, inspiring students to achieve academic excellence and prepare for higher education.

Inspire students to develop a strong understanding and passion for literary analysis, critical thinking, and effective communication.
*
Utilise a variety of effective teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering an inquiry-based and student-centred approach.
*
Assess student progress regularly, providing timely, constructive feedback and contributing to comprehensive student reports.

Contribute actively to the ongoing development of the English curriculum and departmental resources, ensuring they remain current and engaging.

Participate in and, where appropriate, lead extracurricular English activities, enriching the learning experience for all students.

Act as a form tutor and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.
What We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in English Language, English Literature, or a related discipline at degree level or equivalent.

Proven experience teaching English successfully across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential.

Experience teaching English effectively at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) is highly desirable.
