Customer Service Engineer (Northern Ireland)
We are now looking to fill this permanent position for the right candidate to be based within a commutable distance to the local Regional Office in Portadown, Northern Ireland.
HUBER Technology is an “Investors in People” Gold company that specializes in environmental engineering worldwide, with a UK operation based in Chippenham focused on delivering wastewater treatment solutions for the UK water industry.
Reporting to the Regional Field Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating, promoting, and increasing sales of HUBER After Sales Service, as well as acquiring new customers while maintaining existing relationships for future business in the region.
The role requires a candidate with a solid Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background, ideally qualified to HNC level or equivalent, possessing the commercial acumen and drive to manage strategic and operational aspects effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional approach to working with internal and external customers are essential.
Your core responsibilities are as follows:
* Expedite service jobs on time, within budget, and invoice customers promptly.
* Inspect HUBER machines onsite, providing service inspection reports and quotations or proposals.
* Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding HUBER solutions and maintain proper records.
* Follow up on quotations proactively to secure orders for HUBER Technology.
* Promote HUBER solutions to existing and new customers to support sales of new equipment and installations.
* Develop aftersales solutions where value to the customer and HUBER is apparent.
* Adhere to Procurement Limits as set by the company.
* Identify the need for and obtain approval to hire temporary staff or outsource activities to address capacity issues.
* Monitor and authorize overtime for service, installation, and commissioning activities.
* Respond effectively to customer complaints.
* Coordinate with the Field Operations Manager on current and future regional business developments.
* Proactively seek improvements in departmental activities.
* Arrange accommodation for site activities when applicable.
* Manage stock and project materials efficiently at the regional depot.
* Comply with the company’s quality management system and health & safety procedures.
* Support Sales and Projects Departments with regional pricing and project planning as needed.
* Use all necessary risk control measures, including PPE, at all relevant times.
Your profile:
* Formal qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred.
* Practical engineering approach to develop solutions meeting customer needs.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Interest in technical and commercial aspects of the role.
* Experience in a dynamic engineering environment with client interaction, able to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
* Ability to build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
* Familiarity with ERP systems after training.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
The role involves working in a structured environment with diverse tasks, aiming to develop technical expertise and stakeholder engagement skills. Flexibility, leadership, self-motivation, conscientiousness, and organizational skills are vital. The candidate must demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and decision-making ability aligned with company guidelines. A clean driving license is essential.
