Life Safety Systems Installation Engineer
Location: Scunthorpe
What you will be doing
Responsible for safe, effective, and timely installation and service of Life Safety Systems, electrical and mechanical projects within the Asset Intelligence department. This role is critical to ensuring that assets are brought into operational service in line with client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out installation and service works on client sites.
* Develop as-built documentation for each completed job.
* Manage and execute installation activities from design phase through to final handover.
* Ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers for system support.
* Coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams to align system requirements.
* Support site acceptance testing (SAT) and performance testing.
* Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions efficiently.
* Maintain detailed records and support the creation of O&M documentation.
* Focus on health, safety, quality and environmental impact of projects.
* Mentor junior team members.
About You
* IEE Wiring Regs to BS7671 18th Edition with Amendments & CDM Regulations.
* Good understanding of LV systems; experience of HV is an advantage; FIA Fundamentals Level 3.
* HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
* Knowledge of BS5839-1.
* Proven installation experience within live operational environments.
* Sound knowledge of Life Safety Systems & electrical systems.
* Strong understanding of installation/service best practice and process controls.
* Excellent troubleshooting, organisation and communication skills.
* CSCS / ECS card holder (or equivalent).
* Confident working under CDM and safe systems of work.
* SMSTS.
