About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of a new, 2-place residential home for young people aged 7–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a rare opportunity to shape a home from the ground up, working with a hands-on leadership team committed to your succes
Tasks
* Lead the home in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
* Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
* Ensure the home is Ofsted-ready at all times, aiming for “Outstanding.”
* Oversee high-quality, person-centred care and a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.
* Recruit, train, and develop a committed team.
* Manage rotas, admissions, audits, budgets, and day-to-day operations.
* Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, and other stakeholders
Requirements
Essential:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willing to complete within 12 months)
* Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare already achieved
* 5+ years’ experience in children’s residential care
* Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory compliance
* Proven track record achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
Desirable:
* Additional training in therapeutic models or child psychology
* Experience with children with EBD in solo or small group homes
Skills & Qualities:

* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Full manual driving licence
* Flexible to join the on-call rota
* Ambition to grow into a multi-home leadership role
