25 Hours hr/wk PA care position for female in Totterdown (no personal care) - BRISTOL - BS4
My name is Catherine, I am a partially disabled female artist, living in the Totterdown area of Bristol and am an independent person with a good sense of humour and although I’m 52, I have a much younger outlook. When I am able, I like to go to the cinema, get out in nature, gardening, travel and visit exhibitions. I am a non-smoker, and have two rescue cats called Marshmallow and Tinkerbell.
Responsibilities
* Provide support with domestic tasks, food shopping, laundry, and food preparation.
* Drive to appointments and assist with travel as needed.
* Assist with gardening and physio exercises.
* Help with transporting pottery to a studio in Barton Hill as required.
* Occasionally borrow and accompany a small dog to a local park for an hour.
* Provide admin and advocacy support (phone calls, emails, making doctor appointments) to help maintain independence.
What you will not do
No personal care is required, but you may be asked to provide encouragement and support to carry out tasks, and to assist with tasks as they arise.
Ideal Candidate
* Energetic, a good communicator, friendly, adaptable and intuitive with good memory recall.
* Able to carry out tasks with attention to detail, take direction, and also make independent decisions when needed.
* Multitasking and time management skills; positive attitude and ability to adapt to new tasks.
Requirements
* Access to a car that is air zone compliant (essential).
* A non-smoker is preferable.
* DBS check required; if you don’t have one, it can be arranged via WECIL.
Compensation & Schedule
* Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a short trial shift (£12.21 per hour).
* Probation period of one month with pay rising to £12.60 per hour on successful completion.
* Hours: 25 per week, worked over three shifts (ideally Monday, Wednesday, Friday); Wednesday is a key day for commitments and appointments. Flexibility to be provided for a single carer or split between two applicants. No weekend work required. Please state available days in your application.
* Training will be provided.
* Petrol reimbursement: 50p per mile.
* Pension and sick pay available.
* Paid holiday entitlement: 5.6 weeks per annum.
Additional Information
The 25 hours would be worked over three shifts a week (ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday) but I can be flexible. I would prefer one care assistant ideally that could do the 25 hours but would consider splitting the shifts between two applicants if necessary. Please state in your application what days you would be able to work. No weekends required. Can be flexible about times of day worked to fit in with your schedule.
