Role Purpose
The Youth Co-Ordinator will support the development, coordination and promotion of youth employment, skills and progression pathways for young people aged 14–29.
The postholder will lead partnership working across education, employers, training providers, council services, DWP and community organisations to improve access to work experience, apprenticeships, internships, employability support and sustainable positive destinations.
The role combines programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, employer engagement, youth pathway development, performance monitoring and strategic partnership working.
Key Responsibilities
1. Youth Offer Mapping & Development
o Maintain a comprehensive overview of local and regional youth provision for young people aged 14–29, particularly relating to skills, employability, training and work experience.
o Identify service gaps, emerging priorities and opportunities for improvement across the youth offer.
o Develop and maintain an accessible youth opportunities portal, ensuring agreed ownership, accurate content and regular updates from stakeholders.
o Support continuous improvement and innovation within youth pathways and intervention programmes.
2. Programme Coordination & Delivery
o Coordinate and support delivery of youth programmes including:
+ work experience
+ apprenticeships
+ internships
+ pre-apprenticeships
+ training pathways
+ enhanced post-16 progression opportunities.
o Drive connectivity between careers guidance, skills programmes, work placements and employability initiatives.
o Support delivery against agreed programme objectives, deadlines, targets and funding requirements.
3. Partnership & Stakeholder Management
o Build and sustain effective partnerships across:
+ Council departments
+ DWP / Jobcentre Plus
+ schools and colleges
+ training providers
+ employers
+ health and housing organisations
+ voluntary and community sector partners.
o Develop strong collaborative working arrangements with Youth Hubs, Youth Trailblazer partners and delivery organisations.
o Broker introductions and strengthen relationships across relevant networks and delivery partners.
4. Employer Engagement & Outreach
o Develop employer relationships to create opportunities for young people including work tasters, placements, apprenticeships and paid work experience.
o Coordinate outreach, engagement and promotional activities to raise awareness of youth pathways and opportunities.
o Work with partners to create robust marketing and communication plans ensuring young people, practitioners and stakeholders understand the youth offer.
o Participate in events, networking opportunities and collaborative initiatives to raise aspirations and engagement.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
o Monitor programme activity, participant engagement, outcomes and progression into positive destinations.
o Analyse data and performance information to support programme improvement and informed decision-making.
o Produce reports, briefings, action plans and written updates for managers, partners and funders.
o Develop case studies and evidence demonstrating programme impact and successful participant outcomes.
o Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, funding conditions, confidentiality and data protection obligations.

* Experience delivering or coordinating skills, employability, youth or economic development programmes.
* Experience working within partnership environments involving multiple agencies and stakeholders.
* Experience monitoring outcomes, reporting performance and evidencing impact.
* Understanding of project funding, programme monitoring and governance requirements.
* Knowledge of local authority, skills, employment or youth support environments.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience.
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Special Conditions
* Occasional evening and weekend working may be required.
* DBS check required.
* Ability to travel across the borough and attend meetings at different locations.
* Commitment to maintaining appropriate digital capability and English language fluency requirements.
