THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group are seeking a Manual Miller to join our client based in Cramlington. The right candidate will be joining a global company with a proud history. They have a well established reputation and experts in their industry. An opportunity has arisen for a Manual Miller to join their team.

THE ROLE

12. Machining components in accordance to the route card and technical drawings
13. Assisting in the fitting of components
14. Identifying the operations which need completing from the drawings issued
15. Operating/setting manual milling machines in accordance to customer specifications and company standards
16. Identifying the required speeds and feeds as per each component requirement
17. Operating conventional Milling Machines to produce high precision parts, to exact standards
18. Correctly positioning the component into the conventional machine, with the assistance of lifting equipment if necessary
19. To be responsible for your own quality; measuring first-offs before proceeding with any additional machining with hand measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers
20. Establish tools required for each task and escalate any issues to the Production Supervisor
21. To follow instructions as per company procedure, practises and policies
22. To ensure all work or tasks meet the requirements of ISO 9001
23. To ensure all work/tasks/procedures/documentation meet the requirements of the company’s Quality Systems & procedures
24. To ensure all work meets the requirements of Health & Safety systems & procedures

THE PERSON

25. Previous work experience is essential for this role, minimum of 2 years is expected
26. Ideally with a relevant apprenticeship (or equivalent) or other qualification in engineering/ machining
27. You must be able to read, interpret and communicate technical engineering drawings
28. Manual handling and Overhead Crane Training/Experience is essential
29. Good team working and communication skills are required
30. A flexible and proactive approach to work is also required
31. Must have proven team-working skills
32. Planning and organisational skills are also required to ensure departmental and business objectives and deadlines are met whilst ensuring the integrity of the Company
33. Good written and verbal skills are required to convey issues to your management and employees alike
34. PC literate: Some knowledge of spread sheets and reporting computer systems is advantageous
