Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Band 6
Job Summary: Join a new service at Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) focused on providing a high‑quality mental health service to residents. The role offers an opportunity to work with senior staff to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake and support initial reception screening.
* Complete more in‑depth assessments, develop treatment plans and interventions using evidence‑based tools.
* When mental health issues require secondary care, collaborate with the MDT and lead nurses to ensure appropriate specialist services are accessed.
* Develop treatment/intervention options through supportive care plans in partnership with the MDT.
* Act as the named nurse for mental health issues, providing holistic, clinically effective care.
* Maintain clear, detailed, and timely mental health records communicated to the MDT.
* Administer medications following DrPA agreed policies and guidance.
* With support from the lead MH nurse, conduct risk assessments and respond to serious mental health concerns (e.g., suicide, self‑harm, injury to others).
* Ensure all individuals are treated with respect, empathy, and dignity at all times.
* Work night shifts as part of the rota.
* Collaborate with senior staff to develop a mental health promotion program for residents, from initial reception through to release and deportation.
* Conduct reviews of individuals supported via the ACDT process.

DrPA operates within secure environments, delivering primary and secondary care services in partnership with NHS England. The Campsfield House IRC provides comprehensive healthcare, including mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy, dental, optometry and more, delivered by DrPA or specialist partners.
Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) on the NMC register with no restrictions.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Ability to participate in multi‑professional teamwork.
* Sound knowledge of learning disability and personality disorder.
* Flexibility to meet the mental health needs of individuals within a secure environment.
* Experience managing escalating mental health concerns and implementing care plans.
* Excellent written and communication skills with external community mental health services.
* Competence in mental health assessment and triage.
* Strong written documentation and communication skills.
* Ability to organise workload and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
* Desirable: experience working in a secure environment, substance misuse knowledge, data collection and reporting skills.

Pay: £39,000 per annum.
Contract: Permanent.
Working pattern: Full‑time.

The role requires a UK residency of at least 5 years with no more than a 28‑day break outside the UK.
