Our Regulated Water Asset Design team serves the municipal water sector in the UK and internationally. We hold long-term frameworks with water companies like Severn Trent Water and South West Water, and have strong relationships with blue-chip contractors such as Costain and Galliford Try, delivering projects across the UK. Our services include wastewater treatment, water treatment, sewerage, and water network schemes.

Due to increased demand, we are recruiting to support the AMP8 water industry capital investment programme. If you have relevant water industry design experience, we can provide tailored career development opportunities. If you come from a different engineering sector, mentoring and training are available to transition into the water sector.
Your Role
As a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer, you will:
* Own project delivery, including health & safety, technical quality, schedule, and budget
* Manage multidisciplinary teams
* Identify opportunities to deliver additional services from WSP UK and overseas
* Engage with clients to ensure satisfaction and project outcomes
* Contribute to innovative approaches, new services, and digital products
* Support our Future Ready and Net Zero initiatives
* Implement best practices within the Asset Design team and client projects
* Assist in bid preparation, resource planning, and budgeting
* Mentor graduate engineers and apprentices
* Develop your technical and managerial skills further
Candidate Requirements
* A degree in Civil Engineering
* Chartered status or progress towards ICE or CIWEM membership
* Experience managing civil engineering design teams
* Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget
* Experience with linear civil infrastructure or industrial/process design projects
* Mentoring or coaching experience for junior staff
* Strong client interaction skills
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
