Primary Care Pharmacy Technician - Preston/Leyland
Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a permanent role in Durham. Must have GP practice experience and proficiency in EMIS/S1 systems. Short notice period desirable.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an onsite-based Pharmacy Technician due to company growth and expansion to work full-time within Leyland Practice, Preston. This opportunity is suitable for highly motivated and focused Pharmacy Technicians, responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day activities within general practice, and providing clinical support and advice to patients, focusing on best practices and safety guidelines.
Full-time hours are within the core opening hours of the GP practice.
Main duties of the job
* Support and work alongside your General Practice team, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians within TPN.
* Resolve medication-related queries, improve patient outcomes, and support access to healthcare.

Job Duties:
* Medication reconciliations using clinical letters and post-hospital discharge summaries
* Medicine management, including prescription screening and processing
* Responding to patient medication queries
* Communicating with local pharmacies regarding stock issues
* Medication synchronization and monitoring recalls
* Prescribing audits (training provided)
* Standard and annual medication monitoring
* Shared care protocols and safety alerts management
* Level 1 and 2 medication reviews (training available)
* Pre-SMR screening assistance (training available)
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential):
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPHC
* Experience with EMIS or System 1
* Minimum 6 months experience in general practice
* Ability to commute to the practice
* Enrolled in or completed the CPPE Primary Care pathway (desirable)
* GPhC registration
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the nature of the work, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975).
