The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across the curriculum. Your Role As a Year 1 Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons that challenge pupils of all abilities. You will track progress, identify gaps in learning, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure every child achieves their potential. Supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development is a key part of the role, fostering resilience and independence. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 1 curriculum Use assessment to monitor progress and inform planning Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independent learning Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and CPD Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1 Be confident in curriculum delivery, assessment, and differentiation Possess strong classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Demonstrate commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding Have a positive, professional approach to teamwork Early Career Teachers are welcome and will be supported with mentoring.
