2. Generating mechanical designs from engineering specifications and verifying designs against manufacturing and assembly practices, including tolerance studies and fit‑for‑function validation.
3. Following Design Process Management (DPM) processes and ensuring compliance with drawing standards.
4. Defining and managing design deliverables to meet contractual and third‑party requirements.
5. Interpreting engineering requirements and defining dimensions and tolerances to meet fit, form, and function criteria.
6. Securing and coordinating design resources in collaboration with engineers and monitoring progress to completion.
7. Identifying, assessing, and mitigating hazards, ensuring designs meet HSE requirements and incorporate lessons learned.
8. Creating layout, detail, and assembly designs addressing safety, environmental, and structural considerations.
9. Driving continuous improvement through risk reduction, cost reduction, and performance enhancement initiatives.
10. Creating work packs, reviewing drawings, developing test procedures, and leading small design teams.
11. Producing layout, detail, fabrication, and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
12. Developing 3D models and drawings suitable for manufacture using company parametric practices.
13. Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials in documentation systems for engineering approval.
14. Supporting design verification activities, including tolerance analysis, design reviews, manufacturability, and basic calculations.
15. Creating basic FAT procedures, prototype test procedures, and documenting results for approval.
16. Ensuring all design documentation is correctly archived within electronic document management systems.
17. Applying design‑for‑manufacture principles for machining, welding, and fabrication processes.
