What you’ll be doing day to day.
Providing health advice through focused conversations, ensuring clear and accurate answers.
Your duties will include:
1. Tailoring conversations to ensure customers leave feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
2. Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions, while ensuring safety.
3. Complying with legal and professional requirements and guidance.
4. Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
5. Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimizing losses.
What you’ll need to have.
An NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser are required. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is also necessary, with support provided to complete training within 6 months if not already qualified.
Opportunities for professional development include achieving NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services to register with GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, potentially leading to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) role. Your pay and benefits will reflect your qualifications and roles.
