GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and supportive Primary School Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Derby.
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support classroom activities, assist pupils who need additional help, and contribute to creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Main Responsibilities of a Primary School Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in delivering lessons in line with the primary curriculum
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional assistance
* Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and learning resources
* Encourage pupils’ participation and engagement during lessons
* Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
* Support classroom organisation and behaviour management
* Assist pupils with their academic tasks and learning activities
* Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support pupil development
Requirements of a Primary School Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is desirable
* A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with young learners
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine interest in supporting pupils’ learning and development
* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
