The Sourcing Specialist will be dedicated to enabling robust and broad access to medicines. There will be a primary focus on Clinical Trial supplies, including comparator, co-medication or critical care. Supplies will be sourced through an audited and efficient supply chain by effectively supporting the Sourcing lead.
There will also be a secondary focus, encompassing sourcing for post-trial programs or source and supply of difficult-to-find unlicensed and short supply medications in response to demand for access from healthcare professionals on an unlicensed basis, or patients with unmet needs.
The successful candidate will have:
* Relevant Degree or Professional Qualification preferred i.e. BA, MSc, APICS, CIPS etc.
* International experience desired
* Experience within clinical trials/comparator sourcing is desirable.
* Experience and expertise in US clinical trials, supply and/or sourcing is desirable
* Proven experience of sourcing and/or procurement of pharmaceutical products or related industry
* Proven experience in working within a purchasing environment and negotiation of supplier contracts including successful supplier performance management
* Background in dealing with enquiries essential, preferably within a complex service environment
* Experience and/or knowledge of working in a highly regulated environment required
Your role at Clinigen:
* Working with International suppliers to source comparator and hard to find medicines at competitive rates
* Handling inbound Clinical Trial Supplies (CTS), unlicensed and post-trial sourcing enquiries
* Ownership and specialization in US based requirements, sourcing and suppliers
* Pursue multiple options to achieve cost reductions e.g. negotiate rebates, exploit price breaks, mitigate cost price increases, improve payment terms, etc
* Evaluate supplier base to ascertain which suppliers can provide best sourcing routes
* Constructs detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services to drive the control, containment and reduction of costs for Clinigen and to provide deep and meaningful insights to Account Management team
* Maintain and expand global supplier base with a primary focus on the US, to ensure development and contribute to the global sourcing strategy
* Strategy Development/Implementation: Utilizes Sourcing Management Process and other tools and techniques to create and execute RFIs, RFQs together with subsequent structured information analysis wherever possible using modern electronic procurement processes
* Develop supply chain to maintain availability and minimise supply problem issues, with the view to keep as minimal links as possible and to ensure full product traceability
* Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to advise the most robust comparator sourcing routes and to source alternatives for new shortages
* Risk mitigation to prevent unethical or counterfeit drugs entering into the supply chain
