Senior Mechanical Engineer
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading EPC engineering business in Cramlington. The business specialises in the design, engineering, and delivery of turbine systems and associated mechanical infrastructure for onshore energy and industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer include, but are not limited to:

Lead the design of turbine air intake and exhaust systems to meet industry standards, including BS EN 21789.
*
Perform calculations and simulations using Mathcad for material thickness, structural integrity, and thermal performance.
*
Create and review 2D/3D CAD models using Inventor and produce detailed drawings.
*
Review vendor documentation, technical datasheets, and provide guidance to ensure project compliance.
*
Support on-site inspections and liaise with construction teams.
*
Contribute to FEED studies, design reviews, and project reporting.
Requirements of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
*
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) - Chartered status (IMechE) desirable.
*
Experience in turbine air intake and exhaust systems, preferably in EPC/onshore energy projects.
*
Proficient in Mathcad and 2D/3D CAD (Inventor).
*
Practical construction/inspection experience.
*
Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance.
*
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
