Roles: Resident Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical Disciplines.
Location: Port of Nigg, Scotland
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of the civil, mechanical, or electrical infrastructure and structural elements of a Subsea Cable Factory Project in the Port of Nigg.
You will serve as the primary point of contact between contractors, project stakeholders, and engineering teams, ensuring that construction activities adhere to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Construction Oversight: Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
2. Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and quality control checks, addressing deviations or deficiencies.
3. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of activities, progress reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
4. Technical Support: Provide technical guidance, resolve engineering issues, and interpret design specifications.
5. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community representatives.
6. Change Management: Manage scope, schedule, and budget changes, assessing impacts and facilitating decisions.
7. Team Communication: Maintain detailed communication with the design team.
Educational Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; Master’s Degree is advantageous.
* Recognition from accredited programs is preferred.
Professional Licensing and Certification
* PE license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
* Safety Certifications: OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
Experience
* 5-10 years in the relevant discipline, with site supervision and project management experience.
* Experience with large-scale infrastructure, manufacturing, or electrical projects.
* Proven skills in quality assurance, inspection, and compliance.
Technical Skills
* Familiarity with project management and site supervision software.
* Knowledge of relevant codes (Eurocode, ASME, IEC).
* Structural analysis, HVAC, plumbing, or power systems expertise.
* Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail for safety and specifications compliance.
