Teacher of R.E. – (Maternity Cover – One Year).
Required for February 2026.
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Teacher of R.E.. This is an opportunity to join a high performing R.E. department in a school where religious education is highly valued and central to school life.
The department is fully staffed with R.E. specialists. The department is based together in our suite of R.E. rooms. Standards are high and the department regularly exceeds modelled expectations in terms of GCSE results. Over the last four years it has achieved between 42-45 points for the average points score, between 76-80% A*-C at GCSE and 30-35% A*-A.
Cardinal Newman Catholic School is an 11-16 mixed Voluntary Aided school, with 989 pupils currently on roll. The school is over-subscribed. The school has an excellent reputation for both our academic results and our pastoral care. The school regularly outperforms other schools in the local authorities that we serve. We annually achieve 400+ Average Capped Nine points and at least 75%of our pupils achieve five GCSEs including Maths and English. In 2025 our results for the Capped Nine Points Score was 413 and 76% achieved five GCSEs including Maths and English.
