* We are recruiting to a Library Assistant role working 23 hours per week at Manor Farm Library in Ruislip.


Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and making a difference in your local community? We are looking for an enthusiastic and approachable Library Assistant to join our team.

In this front-facing role, you will work in a busy, dynamic environment, so confidence, adaptability, and a strong customer focus are essential. You'll play a key role in providing a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all library users.

The working hours for this role are as follows and cannot be adjusted:

Week 1

Monday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Thursday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Saturday: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Week 2

Monday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Thursday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Friday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service to the public
* Support users in accessing library resources, digital tools, and information
* Promote and encourage the use of library services within the community
* Assist with the organisation and delivery of events and activities, including storytimes for under-5s
* Contribute to the strategic goals of the Library Service, including:
o Reading, Literacy and Culture
o Health and Wellbeing
o Improving Digital Services and Inclusion
o Information and Learning
o Sustainable Service Delivery

You’ll have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds. You’ll be able to work under pressure, show initiative, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
