We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Finance Analyst to join our Regional Finance Team, supporting performance insight and financial planning across a network of over 450 vet practices. Working closely with the Regional Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of periodic reporting models—regularly reviewing, updating, and tailoring them for different audiences to ensure clarity and impact. You’ll also lead the annual budgeting process, managing templates, testing systems, and liaising with software suppliers to ensure a smooth rollout and accurate budget management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on understanding the story behind the numbers, brings advanced Excel and VBA skills, and has a solid grasp of P&L, budgets, and balance sheets. Whether you’re ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or bring equivalent experience, your inquisitive mindset and ability to turn data into actionable insight will be key to your success.
Responsibilities
* Ownership of periodic reporting models, including regular review, updates and tailoring for different audiences.
* Ownership of the annual budgeting process including template management, testing, liaising with software suppliers to ensure timely rollout and management of budgets for 450+ practices.
* Finance system (BPC) superuser
* Supporting the RFM in the production of the dividend model, collecting information to support dividend calculations for all eligible practices
* Analysis of key financial metrics to identify trends across the whole group, as well as the variation by cohort, turning raw data into relevant and meaningful insights.
* Development of dynamic financial reporting tools to be shared with non-finance colleagues to provide insight into individual practice performance.
* Supporting the Head of Regional Finance, Regional Finance team and other internal stakeholders with ad hoc queries and reporting needs.
About You – What you’ll bring to the role
You’ll bring a strong blend of technical expertise and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex data into clear trends and messages that resonate with non-finance colleagues. Your advanced Excel skills—including VBA—enable you to analyse data efficiently and build robust, tailored reporting tools. You’re eager to learn new systems and take ownership as the finance super user, always looking for ways to improve processes and drive efficiency.
Detail-oriented and highly organised, you’re confident managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines without compromising on quality. Your report writing is clear and adaptable, even when working with variable inputs, and your time management ensures consistent delivery. Professionally, you’re either ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or bring equivalent experience, with a solid understanding of financial principles and a passion for accuracy.
You’re a natural communicator at all levels, able to simplify complex financial issues and build strong relationships across disciplines. A true team player, you embody the values and vision of the vet group, with a strong service ethos and a drive for continuous improvement. You take ownership of challenges and see them through to resolution, always striving to make a meaningful impact.
