We're working with a specialist engineering business delivering complex, high-performance systems into secure operational environments.
They need a Linux engineer who understands that integration is where engineering gets real.
This is hands‑on. Physical systems. Embedded platforms. Server‑class hardware. You'll be building, configuring, optimising and fault‑finding - not managing cloud dashboards.
What You'll Be Doing
* Configure and integrate embedded Linux platforms
* Build, tune and optimise kernels
* Install, validate and troubleshoot device drivers
* Deploy OS images and application software onto target hardware
* Assemble and configure server‑grade systems
* Benchmark storage and processing components
* Diagnose issues across hardware, OS and network layers
* Support structured verification and acceptance activity
* Work within controlled build and release processes
* Produce clear, practical technical documentation
What They're Looking For
* 5+ years working deeply with Linux, including:
o Debian‑based distributions
o Kernel configuration and compilation
o Command line system and network configuration
o Shell scripting
o C/C++ fundamentals
o Networking protocols
o Git‑based workflows
* UK nationals only. Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
