Shop Supervisor

Hours: 15 per week over 7 days. Salary: £12.36 per hour + rewards & benefits

Every item sold generates funding to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support each year in hospices, homes and communities. We aim to make sure that everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need.
We have a presence on high streets across the country with a range of shops, including boutiques, vintage and retro shops, and large format stores. As part of the retail team, you’ll help inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovation, collaboration and promoting re-use and recycling. You will contribute to drive up the income that funds our care and support services.
We value our people as our most important asset and strive to make sure you feel valued and included as part of a team. In retail, most work on weekends; managers mainly work 1 in 2. We don’t expect teams to work past 5.15 pm in most shops. The earliest start is 8.45 am. We have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day off.
Located in Twickenham, this large shop offers goods ranging from furniture and clothing to accessories, books and a selection of new goods.
If you have retail experience with excellent customer service skills and want to use your experience for an important cause, come and assist and support our Shop Manager to run the Twickenham shop and contribute to the work across Sue Ryder.
Responsibilities
* As Shop Supervisor you will use your skills and retail experience to drive business, push sales, and achieve targets.
* Help lead a team to deliver great customer service to donors and customers.
* Work with the local community to generate sufficient donated stock to drive sales.
* Help recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, who’ll look to you and the shop manager for leadership and guidance.
* Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, ensuring health and safety is a priority.
* Help manage effective stock processes to ensure the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock at all times.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in-store campaigns to promote the brand and national fundraising initiatives.
* Help manage an effective stock process through the Epos operation.
Requirements
* Retail experience with the commercial awareness to deliver sales and a positive can‑do attitude.
* Proven team leadership skills and the ability to lead a large team of volunteers.
* Enjoy engaging with people and have a good understanding of financial and IT administration.
