We are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is an exciting role in the business and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to learn and achieve personal growth within a fast paced business.
What’s the opportunity?
The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for working within the Management Accounts team to produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and departmental reports to strict deadlines.
What does the role involve?
* Ensure the timely and accurate information flow between support centre, stores and external bodies such as finance houses and landlords, including dealing with all related queries
* Ensure monthly and quarterly rent payments are forecasted and paid accurately
* Manage relationships with external suppliers such as finance houses and warranty issuers, including weekly and daily payment requests, imports and implementing rate changes.
* Set up electronic payments and coordinate checking and final authorisation ensuring adequate controls in place
* Daily reporting to Italian parent company and replying in a timely manner to any queries.
* Completion of statutory returns within specified timeframes
* Ensure that all VAT invoices and customer VAT refunds are raised and issued in a timely manner
* Other duties include reconciling control accounts, petty cash and miscellaneous invoice raising.
* Assist with producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports
* Analysis and review of detailed P&L accounts with narrative against budget and prior year
* P&L reviews for actuals and budget, attend and take lead in quarterly reviews with responsible head office budget holders
* Some reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and timely resolve of issues as appropriate
* Accurately and reliably producing key information and financials
* Develop a strong working relationship within both the UK and Italian finance teams to jointly achieve key goals
Who are we looking for?
* AAT or ACCA Qualification or equivalent (or willing to work towards an Accounts qualification)
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong MS Excel skills
* Proactive with strong organisational skills
* Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels
* Ability to prioritise workload to achieve tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
* Willingness for continuous improvement
