Raytheon UK have an opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our teams at our Gloucester, Manchester or London sites. All candidates must already hold eDV to be eligible.
As Infrastructure Engineer, you will contribute to delivering and maintaining operational systems in our many business areas and this role will be office based.
In this area of the business we provide DevSecOps at scale, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cyber and geospatial intelligence capabilities to support the defence, intelligence and cyber sectors. Collaborating with customers and suppliers to deliver secure, mission critical systems using the latest technologies and innovations.
Responsibilities
1. Perform system administration and backup tasks
2. Assist in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications, networks and services
3. Contribute to maintenance, installation and problem resolution
4. Researching and resolving system design issues
5. Provide interpretation of requirements and design into the component design and implementation
Required Skills and Experience
6. Experience working within an Agile / SCRUM / DevOps delivery model
7. Experience as a Systems Engineer in software intensive programmes covering full engineering lifecycle from requirements decomposition to acceptance and customer sign off
8. Understanding of the complexities in design and implementation of large-scale information systems
9. Ability to take responsibility for technical aspects of a project, and to work closely with project management to deliver
10. Linux administration and deployment
11. Understanding of server, storage and desktop hardware
Desirable Skills and Experience
12. Experience working in a Linux environment (RedHat, CentOS)
13. Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, OU, User and Group Management
14. Demonstrable experience of model-based systems architecture/engineering (e.g. MODAF, TOGAF)
15. Knowledge of RedHat migrations
16. Knowledge of networking health monitoring
17. Knowledge of Concourse (writing pipelines, administering the cluster)
18. Understanding of VMware vSphere ESXi
19. Knowledge of Atlassian Suite
20. Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
21. Docker / Kubernetes containerisation and orchestration
22. Elasticsearch/Kibana
23. Cloud services (AWS or Azure)
24. Helm charts
25. MongoDB
26. Experience building enterprise level web applications or services
27. Apache Kafka
