A well-established utilities and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced SHEQ Business Partner to support operational sectors across high-profile projects. This is a key influencing role, partnering closely with senior leaders to embed a strong SHEQ culture and drive continual improvement.

The role
As SHEQ Business Partner, you will act as the primary SHEQ contact for 1–2 business sectors, providing expert advice and assurance across safety, health, environment and quality. You will support Sector Directors and operational teams in managing risk, meeting legal obligations, and improving performance across gas, water, and wider infrastructure works.
Key responsibilities
• Act as SHEQ partner to sector leadership teams
• Embed SHEQ strategy into operational delivery
• Provide practical SHEQ advice across multiple projects
• Support safe systems of work and best practice
• Coach managers to build SHEQ capability
• Lead and support audits, inspections and assurance
• Monitor performance, trends and KPIs
• Support incident investigations and share learning
• Promote proactive risk management and reporting
About you
• Proven SHEQ experience within construction, utilities or infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation and standards
• Confident influencing senior stakeholders
• Analytical, pragmatic and solutions-focused
Desirable
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
• ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor
• Gas or water sector experience
Package
• Full-time, permanent – 40 hours, Monday to Friday
• Company vehicle and fuel card (work use)
• 28 days annual leave

• Regular travel to sites across Middlesex and surrounding areas
