Your new role
As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services across a range of projects. Responsibilities include:
* Leading and conducting ecological surveys (protected species, habitat assessments, biodiversity audits).
* Preparing ecological reports and contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments.
* Designing and implementing mitigation measures to protect habitats and enhance biodiversity.
* Providing expert ecological advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
What you'll need to succeed
* Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in ecological consultancy, including surveys, assessments, reporting, and small project management.
* Strong knowledge of UK ecological legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience advising on Biodiversity Net Gain and using the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
* Protected species licence or ecological specialism (desirable).
* Membership or eligibility for a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
