A well-established and highly respected power and energy solutions business is seeking an experienced UPS Maintenance Engineer to join its field-based operations team. With over 40 years’ experience in the standby power and energy efficiency markets, the business supplies, installs, hires, and maintains UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and CHP solutions across the UK.
This role would suit an experienced UPS or critical power engineer with a strong electrical background, looking for long-term stability, high standards of engineering, and genuine career development within a family-run organisation.
Responsibilities:
Carry out routine servicing, fault-finding, and remedial works on UPS systems ranging from 5kVA to 1MVA
Perform capacitor, fan, and battery replacements as part of planned and reactive maintenance
Act as first responder to UPS breakdowns on customer sites
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
Produce clear and accurate service and fault reports
Travel across the UK, primarily within your allocated region
Support the Generator Maintenance team when required, depending on business needs
Maintain high standards of health & safety, cleanliness, and professional presentation
Act as a professional representative of the business on customer sitesRequirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a UPS Service / Maintenance Engineer
Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge
Experience working across major UPS brands
Confident with fault-finding and diagnostic work
IT literate (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Experience using laptop-based UPS analysis and control software
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
Full UK driving licence and right to live and work in the UK
Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home occasionallyDesirable:
