Contract: 12-month contract (high likelihood of extension)
Working pattern: Full-time, on-site | 36 hours per week (4.5 days)
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Building & Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-value, site-based construction projects in Belfast. This is a client-side role, ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from early concept through to successful handover, while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards-working closely with internal teams, external partners and senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
As a Building & Construction Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of construction projects, including:
* Leading client-side construction projects from feasibility and design through to completion and handover
* Developing and managing project delivery plans, CAPEX business cases, and risk & opportunity registers
* Providing clear leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary project teams and stakeholders
* Managing budgets, controlling expenditure and ensuring resources are used effectively
* Ensuring all project documentation is accurate, compliant and kept up to date
* Maintaining strong health & safety standards across all project activities
* Identifying, managing and mitigating project risks, escalating issues where required
* Building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external partners
What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from professionals who bring strong client-side construction experience and a collaborative leadership style. You'll ideally have:
* Proven project management experience within the building and construction sector
* A strong understanding of the full construction lifecycle and associated processes
* Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems, including design, operation and lifecycle
* The ability to translate client briefs into clear construction requirements and scopes of work
* Excellent knowledge of health & safety practices
* Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
* A proactive, organised approach and the ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience using project tools such as MS Project and Google Workspace (GSuite)
Essential qualifications
* A qualification in Construction or Building Services (BSc or HND), or equivalent professional experience
* Relevant professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, IET)
