The role

The Occupational Safety Advisor is a technical, professional role providing proactive safety advice and guidance to stakeholders across SSEN Transmission.
You will
* Assist project teams with safety advice to successfully implement the Safety Management System.
* Conduct site visits to monitor CDM compliance and engage with Contract Partners to deliver incident-free projects.
* Develop and review safety documentation for Clients, Principal Designers, and Contractors.
* Participate in risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, and safety campaigns.
* Promote a positive safety culture by driving safety standards and championing SSE's Safety Licence: if it's not safe, we don't do it!
You have
* Experience in safety on large construction projects with a pragmatic, flexible, people-centered approach.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, especially Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
* Stakeholder management skills at all levels to foster collaboration and a high-performing safety culture.
* Occupational Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) or equivalent; IOSH membership preferred.
* Ability to influence change and systematically evaluate complex risks to provide solutions.
* A valid UK Driving Licence, due to travel requirements.
