Data Solution Designer – Bupa
Location: Staines (TW18 3DZ) or Manchester (M50 3SP). Permanent, full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary £69,200–£82,800 (negotiable) with 10% management bonus.

The Data Solution Designer will join the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) in the BGIUK Market Unit, working closely with UK Insurance, Bupa Global, Health Services, Bupa Dental Care, and Care Services Business Units.
Responsibilities
* Align solution designs with Bupa’s enterprise data strategy and future vision.
* Lead data modelling workshops to define entities and relationships.
* Build consensus across Bupa’s businesses and teams.
* Develop data models in collaborative tools (e.g., Ellie.ai) for business stakeholders to review and approve.
* Turn business ideas into process outcomes and prototypes that support the data strategy.
* Engage stakeholders to assess guardrails and help create data contracts.
* Work with data stewards and architects to boost data literacy and ensure governance.
* Maintain solution design documentation.
* Present designs for design authority & governance approval.
* Guide delivery teams to maintain solution quality.
* Manage requirements and drive results using collaborative, best‑in‑class data solutions.
Essential Qualifications
* Experience in Data Engineering Design (ETL, ELT) and modelling approaches such as Data Vault, Inmon, and Kimball.
* Extensive experience in conceptual and logical data modelling across enterprise domains, including presenting, reviewing, and approvals.
* Technical exposure to MS Azure Data Stack – Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Azure ML, Power BI.
* Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, including DevOps integration and CI/CD practices.
* Foundational knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, including facilitating workshops and translating business context into data models.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with both technical developers and non‑technical stakeholders.
Highly Desirable
* Ability to align data solutions with organisational data strategy and governance frameworks.
* Proficiency in collaborative modelling tools such as Ellie.ai and FigJam for workshop facilitation.
* Knowledge of data governance principles, including data stewardship, data quality, and compliance guardrails.
* Exposure to emerging data technologies and trends, with a passion for continuous learning.
* Self‑driven and motivated individual with a proactive approach to solution design and delivery.
* Experience of data programmes and technologies within enterprise‑scale organisations or technology teams.
* Familiarity with data governance concepts including data quality, lineage, lifecycle management, and security.
