You would be joining a comprehensive and dynamic CAMH service, delivering a substantial, stepped model of care following the needs‑led i‑Thrive framework. These posts are located within established Mental Health Support Teams in Central Bedfordshire and Luton. Your role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system changes, with the aim of whole‑school and whole‑community approaches to support young people’s mental health.
Your responsibilities include providing comprehensive consultation, assessment, risk management and interventions for young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties in schools, and clinically supervising colleagues. There may be an opportunity for supervisor training at Reading University, which we would strongly encourage.
You will be supported directly by a senior colleague, participate in weekly clinical discussions, receive regular separate clinical and managerial supervision sessions, have access to CPD sessions, and undergo an annual performance appraisal. The environment prioritises staff wellbeing.
We are looking for a confident CAMHS professional with a demonstrable track record within CAMHS of delivering good quality, evidence‑based interventions and improving service quality. Candidates may be Mental Health Nurses, Systemic Family Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Art Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Child Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists, Counsellors or Occupational Therapists with the requisite professional registration. Experience or living in Central Bedfordshire or Luton is considered an advantage.
The role supports the national focus on expanding the reach of Mental Health Support Teams, aiming to increase MHST coverage to all schools by 2030. It involves developing greater access to help, improving the cultural climate of emotional support across primary and secondary schools, and working alongside community partners within a fully integrated community CAMHS and educational setting.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people’s lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – we seek individuals who embody these values when supporting service users, carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and partner organisations.
