Job Description:
The role: To assist in the provision of consistent, efficient, and effective operations of all financial matters, systems, and processes, ensuring the organisation achieves its stated aims and objectives. To achieve a high level of financial control and ensure that financial regulations and best practice are followed at all times.
Actively contribute to the review and development of financial processes and systems. Responsible for financial planning and support services, including the financial implications of delivery the accountability plan, ensuring resources are used effectively and efficiently.
Accountable for accurate and timely processing of daily transactions, debtors and creditor management, payroll processing, and monthly reconciliation of accounts. To promote best value purchasing at all times.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage the finance office including invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and record management.
* Maintain accurate and tidy accounts, ensuring reporting accuracy and preparing reports for presentation and analysis.
* Oversee bank accounts and accounting system, perform monthly reconciliations, and report errors.
* Lead on ordering processes, ensuring a complete purchase order system.
* Collaborate with the leadership team on budget production, monitoring, and forecasting.
* Develop systems to inform staff of financial matters.
* Participate in planning, developing, and monitoring budgets, supporting review of priorities.
* Generate and coordinate new income streams.
* Support financial audit processes.
* Prepare and implement year-end procedures, including accounts/reporting.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations for transactions.
* Provide line management to the finance team.
* Contribute to training and mentoring staff.
* Lead in developing financial strategies, systems, and policies.
* Deliver flexible financial services, manage spreadsheets, and complex financial tasks.
* Analyze data and produce reports for presentation.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Financial qualifications at or towards Level 5 (DSBM/AAT/CIPFA) or significant experience in educational finance.
* Experience in finance, business, and administration to support daily operations.
* Knowledge of ICT/Finance systems and procedures.
* Understanding of Financial Regulations, Policies, and Procedures.
Experience
* Experience in administrative/managerial roles, preferably in education.
* Experience with financial systems, regulations, credit control, and budget management.
* Experience in financial processes including budget monitoring and income generation.
Skills and Experience required:
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
* Ability to present data clearly and accurately.
* Interpret complex information for financial documents.
* Organize, plan, and meet deadlines.
* Work under pressure and maintain focus.
* Strong organizational and business skills.
* Proactive in developing financial processes.
* High ICT skills, including MS Office.
