Job overview
An exciting opportunity to work within the Urgent Care Pathway of Derby City & South Derbyshire CAMHS. The role involves direct work with children and young people (CYP) presenting with mental health crises, executing assessments, interventions, and developing safety plans. The team is multidisciplinary and operates across the community, hospital and people's homes.
Main duties of the job
* Provide urgent assessment, brief intervention and intensive home treatment to CYP.
* Collaborate as part of a Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) for severe, acute and complex presentations, including looked‑after children, young offenders and children with substance issues.
* Advise, formulate and care‑plan with robust skills in risk assessment and safety planning.
* Participate in weekly team reflections and learning sessions with Liaison, CHTT and Day Services.
* Deliver care at a base location, Royal Derby Hospital and in community or people's homes.
* Act autonomously while maintaining strong teamwork across networks.
* Adhere to national and local priority guidelines and clinical standards.
Person specification
* Core profession – Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
* Post‑graduate qualification in Child Mental Health.
* Experience working in a mental health setting.
* Experience working with children and young people.
* Knowledge of risk assessment and safety planning.
