Commercial Assistant / Assistant Quantity Surveyor (South UK)

We’re looking for a highly organised and commercially aware Commercial Assistant to join our Property & Assets team at Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers across a range of housing and construction contracts – including repairs, compliance, and investment projects.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the commercial team with valuations, contract instructions and monthly financial analysis
* Helping with cost forecasting, budget management and benchmarking against market data
* Supporting the production of contractual notices and maintaining accurate contract documentation
* Analysing contract costs to inform future planning and identify savings opportunities
* Engaging with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure performance and value for money
* Maintaining and improving commercial processes and systems across the function
What you’ll bring:
* Proven experience in a commercial support or contract administration role within construction, housing, or a related field
* A strong understanding of financial forecasting, cost reconciliation and commercial record-keeping
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills – able to influence, challenge and build trust
* Strong attention to detail, excellent organisation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Experience interpreting and analysing commercial data
* Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates and social housing contracts (desirable)
* A construction or quantity surveying qualification (e.g. HNC/HND) would be a plus
