Tradewind is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to join a Secondary School in Workington as a Teaching Assistant. You will support a small group of children with additional learning needs. The role is full-time, 5 days a week, starting ASAP, working from 8:30 to 15:30, with daily pay rates of £89-£99.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment. Your duties will include assisting with planning and delivering engaging lessons, providing one-on-one support for children with SEN, managing behaviour, and helping maintain a safe and orderly classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and a passion for working with children.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification
* Have experience working with children or in a school setting
* Understand EHCPs
* SEN experience is advantageous
* Experience working in a relevant classroom environment
* Have an Enhanced DBS, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional references
* Cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
* Have the legal right to work in the UK
