Overview
An exciting opportunity to join the team as a B7 Specialist Area Lead Radiographer in ED X-Ray Imaging. We are looking for an HCPC registered Radiographer with postgraduate NHS experience in an acute setting who can lead clinical imaging services and oversee a Reject Analysis programme.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical excellence and leadership in the ED X-Ray Imaging service.
* Lead service development and manage day-to-day organisation of the clinical area.
* Support the whole X-ray Imaging team as part of a rolling Duty Floor Radiographer rota and in the absence of the X-Ray Imaging Service Lead Radiographer.
* Teach, supervise and performance manage junior radiographers, support workers, apprentices and students; use formal appraisal and assessment documentation.
* Participate in policy and protocol development within UHPT Imaging affecting all service users.
* Ensure designated staff implement policy and service development changes.
* Work with consultants and the head of service on strategic and operational management of the imaging service (Outpatients).
* Contribute to the training of undergraduate radiographers on placement and support learners in the clinical environment.
* Support Agenda for Change 7-day working and flexible hours as required.
Qualifications
* Essential: Current HCPC registration
* Essential: BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
* Essential: Willingness to maintain own development and encourage others
* Desirable: Leadership course; Postgraduate qualification
Knowledge, Experience & Aptitude
* Essential: Extensive postgraduate experience across ED imaging and all areas of general radiography
* Essential: Previous senior-level experience within Imaging
* Essential: Demonstrable experience of teaching, supervising and appraising junior staff/students
* Essential: Understanding of current radiation protection regulations
* Desirable: Awareness of NHS policies; experience leading Reject Analysis programmes; prior Band 7 leadership in acute care

* Essential: Calm, organised, and able to work within a cohesive team; strong interpersonal skills
* Essential: Ability to establish rapport with patients, including children
* Essential: Ability to produce electronic data and documents for assurance and accreditation
* Desirable: Adaptability to change; understanding of Violence and Aggression policies; ability to analyse problems and report on them
