About the role:
1. To provide leadership and direction in developing established integrated partnerships with relevant partners in Luton such as Youth Justice teams, CAMHS, and other young people’s services across the borough.
2. To develop proactive working relationships with other key partners in order to promote and develop the service, increase numbers into treatment, develop joint working process
3. To represent the service in a range of local and regional forums and to forge new approaches to strategic issues.
4. To provide regular supervision and line management to identified team members with a view to achieving and maintaining exceptional practice standards. This includes identifying learning and development needs of team members and to support them in achieving learning objectives.
About you:
5. Experience of working with children and young people experiencing difficulties around Substance misuse.
6. Knowledge of the issues facing children, young people and their families affected by substance misuse.
7. Excellent knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their effects.
8. Line management experience including the delivery of reflective supervision.
9. The ability to lead, empower and motivate a team.
10. Experience of project management.
11. Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices relating to children and young people and experience of embedding these operationally.
12. The ability to foster new partnerships and to maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
13. Knowledge of a range of psychosocial and clinical interventions, including Motivational interviewing techniques and ITEP.
14. Knowledge and understanding around the ‘Hidden Harm’ agenda.
15. Knowledge and experience of community-based support/outreach practices.
16. Ability to ensure all record keeping, outcome monitoring and data collection is maintained effectively.
17. Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.
18. Respond flexibly to the demands of the post.
19. Work as a member of a team.
20. Show a capacity to work alone and the ability to keep calm under pressure.
21. Show commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for young people.
